The Drying Rack 1 challenges the way we think about a familiar household object. Traditional drying racks are treated as temporary, inconvenient and placed where they are least visible. Despite being part of everyday life, they do not receive the same attention as furniture.

This project reimagines the drying rack as an object with presence. Inspired by shape, collaging and draping, compositions are created through the arrangement of laundry while adapting to the user, space, and the garments it holds. As laundry is added or removed, new compositions continuously emerge, creating ever-changing visuals. Rather than hiding in the background, it embraces the visibility of beloved garments, transforming an overlooked household necessity into a useful sculpture that invites a renewed sensitivity.
